Emergency Shut Down Valves
Hazardous or flammable liquids and gases such as city gas and LPG can cause disastrous damage if leaking from the lines. Emergency Shut Down Valves (ESDV) ensure the safety of your operations by closing automatically in case of emergency, e.g. fire or quakes, to prevent the loss of handled medias. By conducting partial stroke tests (PST) regularly it is possible to confirm whether the ESDV is functioning properly without stopping the process line. The follwing ESDV products were especially developed according to customer needs.
Gas Generator Type
- Compact design with unique mini gas cartridge
- No need for air supply piping reduces necessary space for equipment and costs
- Horizontal and vertical valve-orientation possible
- Installable under globular tank
- Reliable action due to gas cartridge with non flammable carbonated gas operated at app. 7.5MPa
- Combined mounting of gas detector, earthquake sensor and fire detector to the ESDV for disaster control
- Explosion-proof, drip-proof
- 4 Models: A type (AGN13, AW13), B type (AW17), C type (AW20), D type (AW28)
- Valve size: 1" to 20" (25mm to 500mm)
- Temperature range: -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C)
New! ESDV with PST Device
KTM has developed and currently offers three different types of PST devices. The actuator type is certified with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 both as a system as well as valve and actuator separately.
- Actuator Type (Patent Pending): SIL certified, cycle test 10,000 times
- Mechanical Limiting Type: simple mechanical stopper, easily attachable to existing pneumatically operated ESDV
- Smart Positioner Type: on-line monitoring and self-diagnosis function for valve opening and air pressure
KTM can provide for large size actuators. Please consult us.
